An educational institution with a difference, Nivedita Shishu Tirtha was inaugurated on the 14 April 1990, by Dr. Rama Chowdhury, the first lady Vice-Chancellor of India (V-C / RBC).

The medium of education is Bengali here and every year the academic session starts in the month of January. The mission of this institution in view is to enlighten the minds of its learners, by illuminating the light of knowledge and truth, which is regarded to be the eternal motto of mankind. Nivedita Shishu Tirtha is not merely a school for children, this institution is an Alma Mater to them, and a glorious seat of learning, that has been progressing from strength to strength with a view to making the dreams and aspirations of children come true throughout the by-gone years.
