An educational institution with a difference, Nivedita Shishu Tirtha was inaugurated on the 14 April 1990, by Dr. Rama Chowdhury, the first lady Vice-Chancellor of India (V-C / RBC).
The medium of education is Bengali here and every year the academic session starts in the month of January. The mission of this institution in view is to enlighten the minds of its learners, by illuminating the light of knowledge and truth, which is regarded to be the eternal motto of mankind. Nivedita Shishu Tirtha is not merely a schools for children, this institution is an Alma Matar to them, and a glorious seat of learning, that has been progressing from strength to strength with a view to making the dreams and aspirations of children come true throughout the by-gone years.
In the interests of little boys and girls, the sole aim of this institution is to impart to them such an education that would help them grow up intellectually,morally and spiritually strong.Hence in our syllabus, special emphasis has been given to the ideas and ideals of sri Ramakrishna, Ma sarada,Swami Vivekananda and Sister Nivedita, also to that of Rabindranath Tagore and Gandhiji. We do not only want to give them a proper schooling but also to inspire them in such a manner that they can discover their latent talent and hidden potentials and at the same time can enjoy the teaching learning process.
